The Line Server Unit version 3 (LSUv3) belongs to the last generation of high performance test systems and is intended to support development teams, system test, acceptance tests and production tests in all telecommunication areas. LSUv3 is also suitable as a powerful development platform in the telecommunications field.
LSUv3 allows to simulate, via PCM, STM-1 and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, most of the functionalities of GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS Network elements in order to test real pieces of equipment.
LSUv3 is the latest and most powerful test system among the LSU series. This new version supports either channelised or unchannelised data flows, based on HDLC, ATM, IP and other special communication protocols used between the different Network Elements (e.g. TRAU Frames, PCU Frames, V.110, IuUP etc.)
Very recently PRISMA has added two new members to the LSUv3 family: the LSU Radio and the LSU Server. These new products complete the PRISMA’s offer, serving multi standard radio interface and IP networks simulation. Like all other members of the LSU family, the new LSU Radio and the LSU Server maintain all the key characteristics of PRISMA’s products, such as high performance achievement, stability and scalability.
LSUv3 was designed to operate in different modes, with the addition of software modules, in order to satisfy the test requirements for different project development stages (white box, integration, load & stress), final and acceptance test activities, and for other application fields.
The implementation of the different protocols strictly follows the related recommendations but also provide special primitives for generating abnormal sequence of messages, in order to verify the correct behaviour of the system under test in all circumstances. The LSU development team is available to design special testing suites for new specific Customer’s requirements, or to integrate additional features (e.g. proprietary O&M procedures) in the preexisting software packages.
